The Stampfeli site in the Kriens Obernau district is being developed as part of a single-stage project competition. It is located on Rengglochstrasse in a residential and commercial zone and covers an area of around 8,300 m².
The development area includes the listed “Stampfeli” building, a small farm building, and the Ehenhaftenkanal, a covered watercourse. The aim of the competition was to find a future-oriented, high-quality construction solution that is in line with the spatial development concept (REK) of the municipality of Kriens and enables moderate densification.
Five architectural firms were invited to participate in the project competition, each of which had to consult a landscape architecture firm. Feasibility studies and condition analyses were carried out in the run-up to the competition.
The project studies submitted were first subjected to a formal and content-related preliminary review. In particular, compliance with deadlines, the completeness of the documents, fulfillment of the program specifications, sustainability, and construction, planning, and environmental requirements were examined. The evaluation committee then assessed the projects on the basis of the defined objectives and evaluation criteria.
On November 26, 2025, the decision was made in favor of project no. 4, “s_t_a_m_p_f_e_l_i,” by Rolf Mühlethaler Architekt, Bern. The picture gallery shows first impressions of the project and impressions from the day the decision was made.
